Bump update - 27 weeks

27 weeks

How far along? 27 Weeks

Baby Bump? She's growing, and it’s growing... fast. I can’t believe how much bigger I have gotten.

Maternity Clothes? Love maternity clothes. It’s the only way to stay comfortable and keep my growing belly covered.

Best moment this week:  Seeing our little girl in 3D. I couldn’t believe how much detail we could see. We saw her yawn a couple times, and she would clench and unclench her fists. It was amazing. The person who did our ultrasound said that she looks a lot more like her daddy. I think he’s cute, so I’m sure our little girl will be just darling!

Belly Button in or out: Definitely still in, I would be surprised if it ever pops out.

Miss anything?  I miss sleeping on my stomach and on my back, sometimes I can’t really get comfortable on my side.

Food cravings: Nothing new here. I love fruit, but food in general always sounds good to me.

This week baby is the size of: head of cauliflower… that seems pretty big. She should be about 14 ½ inches and 2 pounds now.

Happy or moody most of the time: I’m usually pretty happy.

Gender: BABY GIRL!

Symptoms: Hungry, occasional heartburn, crazy dreams.

Sleep: Our little girl is definitely a night person. Right about the time that I lay down to go to sleep she decides that is when it is the most fun to kick and poke me. Once I'm asleep I am usually pretty good at staying asleep, but she is making it a little more difficult to do the falling asleep part.

Baby’s development this week: Her brain is developing, she may start getting hiccups (I don’t think I have felt any yet). She is developing a sleep pattern, which I have started to notice more and more.

New Baby Items: This one of my good friends from work brought me in a baby gift. She won't be around at work for much longer (going on maternity leave) and won't be back until after I am gone. She gave me a whole box of little things. It is starting to get so much more real that we have a little baby on the way. I also started making a couple things to hang in the nursery. I will post some pictures when I am all done with them. We also ordered the crib and dresser online this weekend, so that should be coming in the next week or two.

Looking forward to: Getting a crib. I feel like things will start feeling so much more real once we start setting up all of our baby stuff. Scott keeps asking me if we are close enough to the due date so he can put the car seat base in his car.  We are getting anxious for this babe to get here, but we understand that she still needs to grow and develop so she can be healthy.

Anything Else Going on: I think I am officially in the third trimester now. That’s a pretty big deal, 2/3 of the way done with this whole pregnancy thing.

We also went out and registered at Target (and Amazon) over the weekend. Its overwhelming to think about all the little things that will come in handy once this little one arrives. We had fun registering for thing (not really sure what we will need or not need). This is getting real, Scott and I are going to be parents!

Bump update - 26 weeks

26 weeks

How far along? 26 Weeks

Baby Bump? It’s still there :)

Maternity Clothes? I have a few maternity shirts, which are nice to have (and long enough to cover my growing belly). I need to get a pair of shorts or some jeans because I no longer have anything I can wear on the weekend (currently my outfit of choice is pajamas, don’t judge). Maxi skirts/dresses are a pregnant girl’s best friend.

Best moment this week:  Buying a chair for the nursery. We went back and forth a couple times on whether we wanted a recliner or a glider. We decided to go with a recliner in case we have one of those babies that won't sleep if you lay them down. We saved 50% because we bought the floor model, it still looked brand new and it wasn't a big deal that a few people had sat in it before.

Belly Button in or out: I don’t know if I will ever have an outie belly button. It definitely looks like it is being squished from the inside, but it really doesn’t look too much different than it did pre pregnancy.

Miss anything?  Being able to bend down as easily as before. My belly isn’t even that big, but I went to a craft store a couple days ago and was trying to get a piece of paper from the bottom shelf (they were all sticking together and I only wanted one piece). It was the first time I felt like I was having a hard time doing a normal thing, due to pregnancy.

Food cravings: Still fruit, I absolutely love fruit right now. I’m not too big into anything else right now.

This week baby is the size of: eggplant… (I feel like this time she grew instead of getting smaller, haha)

Happy or moody most of the time: I am pretty happy most of the time.

Gender: BABY GIRL!

Symptoms: Hungry, occasional heartburn, I’m starting to get exhausted at the end of the day, and I have been dreaming about baby (I always dream that our baby comes and I put her down for a nap and then forget about her for days. They are terrible dreams; I promise I’m not going to forget I had a baby).

Sleep: I sleep pretty well, but it definitely is taking more effort to roll to my other side than it used to.

Baby’s development this week: Baby’s lungs are still developing and she is practicing the movement of breathing. She is continuing to put on a little more fat, and should be about 14 inches and 1 2/3 pounds. Her eyes are completely formed and she can distinguish light from dark. If  Scott puts his head on my belly he could possibly be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat (we will have to test this out).

New Baby Items: The recliner for the baby's room. I also went out and bought some fabric and cardstock for some of the things I plan to do in the nursery.   We will probably buy her crib in the next couple of weeks.

Looking forward to: We plan to go in this week to the elective ultrasound place to do their 3D package. It’s crazy how much technology lets you see while the baby is still inside.

Anything Else Going on: We are officially in the two-digits for how many days until our little girl comes. Today we have 98 days to go!
One of the new neighbors that just moved in is 12-weeks along. So that makes 3 of us in the cul-de-sac pregnant. It will be fun to have babies close in age with our neighbors.

Bump update - 25 weeks

25 weeks

How far along? 25 Weeks

Baby Bump? Found out today that my bump is measuring ahead of schedule and if it is still running ahead of schedule at my next appointment they will do an ultrasound to take a look to see if it’s just me or if the baby is also ahead of schedule. The doctor said that she might just be stretched out making the measurement a little bigger than normal.

Maternity Clothes? I love maternity clothes, they are so much more comfortable than anything else.

Best moment this week:  We got to hang out with friends. There are a few girls in my ward that are due in December so it’s fun to get together with them. We also had some friends come over for some Mario Kart... I need to practice a little more if I ever want to win.

Belly Button in or out: My belly button looks a little different than it used to, but it is still in.

Miss anything?  Sleeping flat on my back, it seems to be the most comfortable.

Food cravings: Fruit – I love fruit, and could probably eat it all day. We split a box of peaches with one of our neighbors and those peaches have been amazing.

Gender: BABY GIRL!

Symptoms: Hungry, occasional heartburn, I have to pee way more often than the average human.

Sleep: I sleep fine as long as the room is nice and cold, I don’t do so well when it feels warm in our room.

This week baby is the size of:
 Zucchini… 13.5 inches long and about 1 ½ pounds.

Baby’s development this week: Baby’s lungs are still developing. (I’m pretty sure the majority of her is still developing) She has fingerprints, and she is starting to put on a little more weight.

Happy or moody most of the time:
 Happy most of the time.

New Baby Items: This weekend we went out and bought some diapers and a car seat. We are always looking to save money so we are trying to get things as they go on sale.

Looking forward to: Getting the nursery put together. I am trying to finish a quilt that I am making for a friend and then I will start of stuff for our little girl.

This morning I got to do the lovely glucose test. I always schedule my appointments in the morning, because the doctor is usually right on time first thing in the morning... A sugary fruit punch drink is not something that sounds (or tastes) very good first thing in the morning (although it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be).

Bump update - 24 weeks

24 weeks

How far along? 24 Weeks

Baby Bump? Yep, and it is getting bigger and bigger.

Maternity Clothes? I love maternity clothes, they are so much more comfortable than anything else.

Best moment this week: Having Scott’s parents come in to visit. It was a lot of fun to be with family over the 4th of July.

Belly Button in or out: Still very much an innie.

Miss anything?  Not that I can think of.

Food cravings: Fruit – I love fruit, and could probably eat it all day.
Gender: BABY GIRL!
Symptoms: Constant desire to be eating, heartburn, and growing belly.
Sleep: I’m sleeping just fine, I do have to roll over and get comfortable a couple times, but it’s not a big deal.

This week baby is the size of:
Ear of corn… and just over a pound. (I'm not really sure how the whole compare the baby to a food thing works sometimes, it seems like she is shrinking.) She is starting to plump up.
Baby’s development this week: Her taste buds and lungs are developing. Now that I am 24 weeks along  the doctors would do everything they could to keep her alive if she were to come early. I feel great so I don't think she will be coming any time soon.

Happy or moody most of the time:
Happy. Although I have gotten annoyed more easily this week than I normally do.
New Baby Items: Scott’s parents brought us a couple more outfits and a few books. In the next couple of weeks we will be getting some of the bigger items.
Looking forward to: Making things for the baby’s nursery. I have a couple ideas about what I want to do for decorations, so I just need to make it to the craft store and get going.
